Toledo Zoo Lights... Finally

For my loyal readers, you may remember this Post from last year when we attempted to go to the Toledo Zoo lights, got there, and turned right around to go home cause of the weather!

Well, this year we went again, and actually made it in this time! It was fun!

Here are some pictures from the night! Probably more than you want to see!

Maddie and her buddy Hanna. Hanna didn't want Maddie touching her, and Maddie knew it, so what did she do...? Kept touching her!

My niece getting eaten by a Polar Bear. AHHH! :)

The Girls dancing to the light show music! It was really cool!

Maddie and Haley, isn't it just the cutest pic ever!

Believe it or not, Cameron is in that stroller. He is in the back part, under the light blue blanket. He was the warmest out of all of us!

Kids having (too much) fun in the restaurant afterwards. Haley, Maddie, and Drew

This is what Heaven looks like for my daughter...

Here she is sleeping between her two favorite people! Her cousins Al and Chelsea. She stayed the night at their house last night and my sis texted me this picture. It put such a smile on my face and everyone in the bar with me. So, I have to share with you. Just so you know what Heaven looks like for miss Maddie.

Craziness

That describes this past week. In normal times it wouldn't be so crazy I guess. But in pregnant with a 1 year old, it is crazy!

I don't even know where to begin, but I guess I will just say that I am glad the week and weekend are over! And with that, I am going to focus on the positive aspects of the weekend.

HAPPY 1st Birthday to Maddie's Buddy CJ. Isn't this the cutest pic?

Saturday was my cousin's Baby Shower as well as CJs birthday party. They both started at 1:00 and they were about 35 minutes away from each other. But it worked out.. I got to go to the shower and see most of everything, AND make it to CJs party a couple hours late but STILL see him open gifts and eat cake. So that was good!

Sunday was my family reunion and that is an all day thing, and I am usually very helpful in set-up and tear down. However this year, I sat on my bum a lot. :) If only I don't feel so guilty about that. I wish I could just enjoy being a bum and the fact that I have a good reason for it, but I don't.

I took a lot of pics, but it doesn't really seem like a lot, cause they are all of the same events. I didn't get a nice wide range of pictures to really detail the day.

All in all it was a great day. The weather was gorgeous! DJ and I got home about 8:30, put Maddie down and we both went to bed. lol. I slept in today until I got my Maddie wake-up-call at 8:30.

Updates

Well, we had a great weekend camping this past weekend.

My nephew and niece went with us, and Maddie loved having them at her beck and call all weekend! I loved her having them at her beck and call. haha. It was seriously a very relaxing trip, and even my friends with toddlers noticed how nice it was to have two older kids around to help entertain the little ones.

I haven't updated in a while and I feel like there is so much to say. I am sure I will forget half of it.

I am getting ready for Maddie's birthday party. It is cupcake themed, and of course I plan to do way too much and make it a crazy celebration. Cause that is what I do best.

Maddies Favs:

Her cousins Al and Chelsea. All of camping Thursday and Friday she didn't want to have anything to do with her Mommy, it was all about Al and Chels.

Being bratty/sassy and laughing about it.

Chasing Aunt Michele's cat all over her house and saying "Meow"

Scrambled Eggs, Blueberry Pancakes, Popsicles, and Mandarin Oranges.

New things:

Mooing like a cow- and it is so funny cause she uses this deep mooing sound.

saying YUMMM when she eats things like yogurt and applesauce. This all started on Father's Day when Nanny fed her some dessert. When Nanny would give her a taste of the chocolate part she would say "Yummm" and when she just had some whip cream without the chocolate, no "yumm". LOL, she IS her Mother's Daughter. After that she did "yumm" for lots of things.

She says Alex and Chelsea. Alex is very easy to make out, Chelsea, I can only make out when She is looking directly at Chelsea and I know what she means.

The sign for More, now means "I want". So basically if she wants up, she does the sign, if she wants down, she does the sign, if she wants water, she does the sign for more. If she is hungry she does the sign for more. It is quite interesting to try to decipher what it is that she wants at any given time.

She is officially off of Formula. She is drinking all whole milk. I ran out of formula and I had already started mixing it so she would be ready this weekend... and If I bought more, since we get the two huge cans from Cost-co, it would have taken months to be done with the cans. So, I decided not to buy any more.

I know there are more new things, but it is hard to keep up. It seems like in the past two weeks she has become a toddler. The only thing she is missing is the walking. So, for now, I just leave you with some pictures from this weekend!

Watching a movie the first night in the camper with Chelsea and Drew

The next Morning. She was SOOO happy to see Chelsea and Alex when they woke up in the beds across from us. She screeched and laughed and clapped her hands.

Maddie and Alex. I had to put this one in there cause Aunt Jen made fun of her hair saying it looked like a comb over. Lol.

Maddie and her BFF Hanna. They are almost 3 months apart, and they loved being in the double stroller together.

When the kids went off to play on their bikes they had to have the two way radios. Maddie loved hearing from them throughout the day.

Alex took Maddie for a walk at dark to put her to sleep, and this is how she came back to the camp site. Lol.

Fun comes in twos.

I will admit, lately I have been getting a bit freaked out watching my Baby B counter there on the right! It was fine when I first created it and it read 136 days until New Baby B arrives! But now it reads 114 days or something like that, and well, that is really close to under 100, and yup, that freaks me out!

However, I spent tonight cleaning my computer room and came across a photo album I have with pics of family and friends. There are several pics of my niece and nephew when they were toddlers. SOOO CUTE!! And reminded me of all the fun I used to have with them. They are 19 months apart, and Maddie and Baby B will be 16 months. I am already having so much fun with Maddie and when Baby B gets here that just means twice the fun. I don't know why I am worried!

It was so fun to look at some of the pics! They are now 10 & 11... and still such great kids!! The oldest Alex is an amazing hockey player! Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the kid goes pro! He was invited to try out for an invite only hockey team that is coached by a retired Red Wing. Try-outs were today and it sounds like they went really well. Chelsea... she is just a hilarious girl. And the funny thing is that she always has been. She still has the same jokester personality that she did as a toddler! She can have our family cracking up in stitches by something small she says.

Here is one of the pics that brought up all these memories, and helped me calm the anxiety that was rising about having two littles ones so close in age! They are at the same Memorial Day Parade that I recently posted pics of Maddie at. Do you see any resemblances in them and Maddie? I do, in both. :) You can see pics of them now in my more recent blog First Mothers Day

First Mother's Day

I forgot to post about my first Mother's day! It was very nice....

It kinda started Sat. I hate to admit it, but I pulled the Motherday-Weekend card. :)

Sat morning Miss Maddie decided to wake up bright and early at 7! Yikes! So, I shook DJ and said, hunny can you get the baby, it IS mother's day weekend. I will admit that I was shocked that he didn't even make a grumble, but he got up and got her. I ended up sleeping till about 9. It felt heavenly! Sunday, again, for some reason another early morning... DJ got up with her without me even having to ask. He even changed TWO (2) poopy diapers that morning. But get this... she POOPED 4 times that day! So, I ended changing the remaining two, since it was a HUGE thing for my poop-a-phobic husband to change the first two! Go figure the day I get out of changing two is the day she goes 4 times!

Anyhow, we went to Farmer Johns to get flowers for our yard :) :) I got the cutest gerber daisies (those were the flowers the guys wore for our wedding) and cute pots for them! It was raining while we were there, but it was so fun picking out the flowers.

Then we went out to DJs Dad to visit his step Mom and then to My Sis' for dinner. It was a nice day. At my sis' my nephew played with Maddie the whole time. They are BFFs when they are together and Maddie is content as can be when she is with him. Oh, we also went on the Friday before Mother's Day to a park to do a photo shoot with the kids for presents for my Mom. I will post some of my favs here.

Maddie LOVED going down the slide. She giggled the heartiest giggle ever! I wish I had brought my video camera!

Wordless Wednesday

Isn't he the cutest kid ever??? This is my nephew and I think he is flippin adorable. I love this close-up I got of him on Christmas Eve. He is a very sweet, cute kid, and I think it is reflected here. Oh, wait, this is WORDLESS Wednesday... yeah, somehow I keep forgetting that wordless part. ha ha.
