After a week of camping she has refined (from watching me and Daddy) her skill of yelling at our dog. She now says "Sit" complete with the stern tone, pointing and movement of finger. Lol. It is pretty funny. She repeats after us, but sometimes if she sees him, she just tells him to sit... I guess because she can. lol. Not that he listens to her anyhow.
She is now saying Thank you, well she might have been saying it for a while, but I just figured it out. In our family we say "Ta Ta" and we use it in a strange way, I guess. Like when a baby has something on the floor they are not supposed to have, we say "Ta Ta Mommy" or "Ta Ta Papa" as you hold your hand out. Then when baby hands you said thing, you make a huge deal out of them giving it to you. Hopeful that if it is something bad, baby will hand it to you. We were at my parents one time and DJ finally asked, "What does Ta Ta mean?" It was pretty comical that my Dad was the one to answer him. "Well, it means thank you, but it is kinda like you say "Ta Ta" like thank you for giving that to me." And so, DJ picked up the term with the rest of my family. I have no idea when or where it started, but that is what we have always done. Well, I have been meaning to really concentrate on Thank you with Maddie in Sign Language. So I stepped it up this week- it helped being around a lot of new people. Suddenly I realized my daughter needed some manners. haha. Well, she never picked up on the sign, but when I would tell her "Say Thank You" She would repeat Taaaa Taaaa, in this sign song voice, which she made up herself. I also find it pretty interesting that I said Thank You (not Ta ta) and she shortened it to Ta Ta. So, I guess she understands my family and our secret language... better than her Dad. haha.
Another picture just for the fun of it... I love this picture- it is my second favorite of the weekend, cause I love the way she is looking at her Daddy. She is trying to figure out what he has on his head. She usually gets a bit freaked out when people wears hats or sunglasses, so I am surprised his helmet did not freak her out. She cried her little heart out when I took her back off the bike and he rode off without her. Such a Daddy's girl!

Wow! That is so cool that she says so may things! CJ does the uh-oh, but that's the only "real" word he says.
