So, DJ and I had a little talk on Friday night, and it seems like we are starting to get on the same page about me being home with Maddie. Please cross your fingers for me, that they continue to head in the right direction. This is soo good, not only because I feel like we are about to make the right choice together, but also because it feels AWESOME to be connected with him again and on the same page.
Anyhow, Maddie Updates:
So I will start with updates from yesterday. Maddie rolled from back to tummy!!!! Well unless of course she did this at some other time last week and my parents were smart enough not to tell me I missed a huge first. (don't get me started on missing firsts!) Well, I actually kinda DID miss it. I put her on the floor on her back, and went to the kitchen to make her a bottle. She made a noise and I looked at her, then put the top on the bottle, turned around, and she was on her tummy! I mean she must have done it super fast. DJ called me right at that time, and I told him about it. He was jokingly like see, you miss the firsts anyhow, you don't have to stay home to see them!! It was actually pretty funny, although if he had said that prior to our heart to heart on Friday, I probably would have hung up on him ;) But here is the funny part of my story. Yes, I know I write/talk alot, but at some point if you read/listen to it all, it is worth it.
On one of the other Mommy blogs I frequent she had a video of her son giving his first "Online Tutorial" on how to roll from back to tummy. It is really so cute cause he is talking through it, and it really does look like he is giving instructions. So I jokingly commented that I was going to have Maddie watch it when she woke up. SOOO, yesterday morning, I sat her in front of me (which is normal... I am ashamed to say she already reaches for the keyboard cause she has watched me on the computer so much!!!) and I go on there and she watches the video with me. She watches for a bit, turns away and then watches a bit more. Then turns away again, and looks around the room. BUT, she obviously learned SOMETHING, cause the next time she was on her back she totally did it!!! I think she is a genius, and that the boy has a future in training!!! HA HA.
Today, was Maddies first time in Church. She did pretty darn well!! I think she fussed once and I had to get up and go out into the entrance. I didn't want to take her in the crying room where all of those "bad" babies could teach her to be fussy- ha ha, you know I am kidding. But really, I just didn't want to sit in that room unless we had to. I thought she would get more from actually watching the service. Anyhow, we sat in front of a mentally challenged girl named Ahley, who LOVED Maddie, and Maddie was all smiles for her, and laughing and squealing. Anyhow, I love how honest these people are, but I have to say I am glad Maddie isn't really "getting" things yet, cause Father was telling a joke, and It WAS funny, and we all laughed. Well Ashley says to her Dad, very loudly, I don't know why everyone is laughing that joke was DUMB! It made me think once Maddie is "getting" things how I will have to teach her that to say things like that so loud in public isn't acceptable, and everything else I am going to have to teach her!! Yikes, no wonder why parenting is a full time job!!
So, I am getting more used to the pierced ears. But people do comment on them, and that kinda bugs me. I know, I am dumb. Why did I do it if it bothers me that people notice. I guess at least it is not the first thing they notice. They still talk about her eyes, and her smile, or that she is just beautiful. Then they say Oh, she has her ears pierced. Whatever. :)
